When I first moved to New York, I’d walk through Canal Street & its corresponding alleys just to check out the latest fashion and sneaker bootlegs, mixtapes and overall energy. I was always excited to see what the bootleggers would dream up without corporate restrictions. These were designs truly ahead of their time. So, when presented with the opportunity to create a 4-piece show at Canal Street Market, I wanted to reimagine what a basketball club would look like if it were inspired by my earliest memories and explorations of Canal Street. TROPHY HUNTING®️ is a brand about inspiration & aspiration. Some of the best advice I’ve been given about achieving goals, is to “say it out loud”. Hold yourself accountable for the challenge. Once you say it and people hear it, you’re either a “dreamer” or a “doer”. It’s great to have dreams, but it’s even better to achieve them. Every day I wake up in search of my personal trophies. The journey/process to achievement is what drives me everyday to create. I’m Thankful for everyone that I’ve worked along side and inspired me, challenged me to do better. Inspiration:

I wanted to bring the 2 things that motivate me and inspire me every day. My work is always centered around the value of success. From gold awards to money in the bank to a new job... When creating for Trophy Hunting, I wanted to make sure that we look at trophies as a representation for winning. Cars, statues in front of sports arenas, money, new toys, a degree… anything that you look to as a symbol for your accomplishment.

Although this shoe will never come out (well, you never know, hint, hint Zion and Jordan Brand), I wanted to show my inspirations on imagining products through my art.

Pen and Pixel, has blinged out album covers since the early 90’s. Most notably Master P & his No Limit Records as well as Juvenile and Cash Money Records. Both from New Orleans. I was alway drawn to these covers. During the rush of southern hip hop artists in the 90’s and early 2000’s pen and pixel was everywhere. There style has inspired a lot of my work in the past.

This shoe was inspired by the Juvenile’s 400 Degreez Album. As a rookie Juvie was as anticipated as they come especially in New Orleans. I wanted to draw the comparison to Zion in the most literal way since that’s how the Pen & Pixel albums were created.
