NBA Player Identity Project / James Harden
Next up in my NBA Player ID Project is @jharden13
This logo illustrates James' "stirring the pot".
His style and look has a retro feel so I wanted to carry that over to his identity.
I was inspired by classic advertisements, art & posters of the 50's & 60's as well as vintage barber shop, men care advertisements.
The combination of the serifs and a playful hands were used to illustrate motion.

NBA Player Identity Project
I've always admired the logos created for NBA athlete footwear. From Jordan's Jumpman to Penny's 1 cent, Dikimbe Mutombos's, shield, I've always admired the simplicity a logo brings. Over the past 20 years in the basketball industry I've been able to create some of my own logos for NBA athletes (KG, Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Vince Carter, Sprewell, to name a few.)
I've taken it upon myself to design new logos for today's newest and brightest stars. Some are re-designs and some new. Hey, maybe they'll end up on a shoe near you.
First up Draymond Green. @Money23Green
I wanted the icon to be a very bold and strong money symbol (could also double as the letter "S" for Saginaw, Draymond's home town where he drew so much inspiration for the person/player he is today. Also built into the "$" is a "D" & "G"

Every Designer Must Watch this film about the Helvetica Typeface [video]
You've seen it everywhere.
This documentary looks into one of my favorite typefaces, Helvetica.
Directed by Gary Hustwit, the film explores Helvetica’s rich history and the reasons for its global appeal and importance within the community of design. The film also examines how typography and graphic design affect our culture.
Watch the full film on Netflix.

New concrete absorbs 880 gallons of water a minute [Video]
When water hits Topmix Permeable concrete, it doesn't flow in all directions, slicking up the surface.
It flows in one direction — down. And it vanishes almost instantly.
Traditional concrete has to be permeable enough to let a minimum of 300 millimeters of water an hour through to the ground level. That allows it to safely handle a major storm event every 100 years.
Topmix Permeable, in contrast, lets through 36,000 millimeters of water an hour, or approximately 880 gallons every minute.
