“Bedroom Floor”

My latest piece titled “Bedroom Floor” is a 5’x7’ hand-knotted rug, handcrafted in collaboration with Kasra Rugs, a second-generation family business built on tradition and craftsmanship.

Growing up I was obsessed with basketball athletes and shoes my room was my world. It was a place where I surrounded myself with everything that inspired me. My collection of clothes sneakers posters trophies, magazines, albums video games were displayed like museum for a few days then it all ended up on the floor by the weekend I’d reset it and do it all over again. It was a cycle from messy to museum.

Looking back, those objects defined how I saw design, identity and culture. Growing up in the 90s shaped my perspective in a way that still shows up in my work today.

This piece was created to be both art and object. Something that can be hung in a home, a space or a gallery for viewers to go back to the time when they were inspired them to see the world they do.
