Oakland Ballers Honor Black Panthers with Special Uniform.

In a tribute to Oakland’s legacy of social justice, the Oakland Ballers have teamed up with designer Dustin Canalin to create a special uniform honoring the Black Panther Party. "I was deeply honored to celebrate the proud legacy of those who fight for social justice in Oakland," said Canalin.

The uniform, worn during a recent game, pays homage to the Black Panther Party’s symbols of resistance, blending them with elements reflecting Oakland’s vibrant spirit. The jerseys are being auctioned off to benefit the Black Panther Party Alumni Legacy Network, with bidding open until August 7th.

WNBA uniform design was inspired by “The Greek goddess of victory known as “Nike“.

For the inaugural season we wanted to make sure that the uniforms were impactful through simple design language and color.

The graphic language is taken from the “wing”.
